Gaming is an entertainment for people who have high interest in playing games on a computer or a console. It's an electronic sport for both males and females, gaming is just an interest or just to enjoy ourselves with games. These people are known as gamers. Some gamers play games for fun and to enjoy their time but some gamers, they play games for money, position, pride and even to support their family.
For me, gaming had installed in me way back when I was in primary school, Standard 3. It was my birthday in November and my parents bought an amazing gift of my life. It was a PC game that most of the kids and the teenagers wanted, it's Counter Strike 1.6.
Best game ever, Counter Strike 1.6
Moving on, to other games such as racing games, fighting games, mini games, and many more. After playing for few years, on this fantastic game. Killing bots, trolling bots, or even on cheats for fun, just to show that you are good in the game. After all this wonderful moments, for years, it started to get boring, its always the same maps, even though I did download other maps to play too. So I decided to annoy my parents to bring me to game shops for me to buy new games as the old ones already bored with. I found this game called "The House of the Dead 2"
CRAZY ACTION GAME !
After several times annoying my parents, they finally decided to let me buy this game, the game was hard when you are playing alone, when thousands of zombies and undead come chasing after you as you are the survivor in the game, bullets never run out but you have to have quick reflexes to shoot of those zombies head! Several missions have to be cleared and as you go further the harder the missions gets, so you have to be well prepared! Even sometimes my dad joined me and played the game together.
Not long later, game started to get bored as I can even win the game by my own self several times. Then, some of my friends recommended me to play Grand Theft Auto. I didn't know what was that until my friends recommended me the game. So, again, I beg my parents again to bring me to the game shop. I saw the game and straight away ask my parents to buy it. They are not easy to be fooled as they know what's the game content is, I wonder how they know. I was really sad, after few trials asking them to buy, sadly answer is a big fat NO! Guess what, my aunty and uncle came to visit us the next week and I purposely brought them to the game shop and secretly bought the game. I was super happy as if I hit the jackpot. I even bought other games such as football games, FIFA 08 and UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2007 but GTA San Andreas is in my hands!
FIFAAAAAAA !
BEST GAME OF MY LIFEEEEE !!
After all these years, I've been playing with my own self, single player mode. During Standard 6, this good friend of mine, suggested this sick First Person Shooter (FPS) online game. He said its 100 times better than CS 1.6 or CS:CZ. As I'm a guy that loves FPS games, as my first game was also a FPS game. It's "Sudden Attack". So I decided to download it, and start playing it. Its an online game, its like stepping my self into another world, meeting other players on the other side of the screen, shooting their heads and killing them. The feeling was thrilling and exciting, its a big leap for me. As soon as my hands played the game, the instantaneous addiction came in to me. As I'm playing with REAL LIFE PLAYERSSS! OMG! No more killing retarded bots! The addiction came in directly. As it was Standard 6, I tried to control myself from playing so much as the major exam is ahead which is the UPSR.
MY FIRST ONLINE GAME AND ONE OF THE SICKEST ONLINE FPS GAME IN THE WORLD!!
Once UPSR ended, right away, the gaming spree kicks in, from that day onwards, I was known as a Hardcore Gamer. Playing from morning till midnight, everyday. I started to set myself a rank to reach as my friends and I non stop competing who have the best Kill/Death ratio and also Rank. Playing non stop and even top-up in game cash just to buy guns with amazing skins or female characters that are super hot. Some players can even reach top rank within few months. A lot of tournament being organized in whole Malaysia to get the best team in Malaysia to compete with those fantastic Korean players with insane reactions and timing. I nearly joined a tournament but sadly being denied by my parents. I still remember our top Malaysian teams are #TeamGameOver, SprayandPray or NAGA, [L]isted, Let's Be and many more. These days goes on until Form 2, the interest to the game started to experience downfall as they changed the game to a whole new Season and incoming tons of hackers to the game and also very less of my friends are playing, just a few. It's now known as a hacker game, where only hacker vs hackers, no more real skilled players.
Just some random screenshots that I found
Way back to 12 years old
Not only Sudden Attack I played, but downloading other online games as well such as Crazy Shooter Online (CSO), Mission Against Terror (MAT), Fifa Online 2, Dragonica, MapleStory, and many many more. But nothing can really replace the feeling of playing Sudden Attack. Then, its my friend again, telling me to play Defence Of The Ancient, DOTA. Yes, its him again, ruining my life by suggesting games. I know, what's DOTA, but I dont know how to play. Its really embarrassing that I'm 14 years old and do not know how to play DOTA and I call myself a hardcore gamer. When you go to a cyber cafe, 95 out of 100 people are playing DOTA. I'm one of the 5 that is not playing DOTA. So I started really really really late. As usual being a super noob in the game and always being scolded by teammates and friends. Every time, being scolded as a noob for not knowing how to play the game.
So, as I'm a competitive guy who always wants to win and do better than others. I gather up myself and decided to take DOTA as my main game. I started slowly and steadily. Learning Hero's skills and abillities, learning the map, how to buy items, which items are best for which hero, slow and steady learning for quite sometime. Watching videos posted by pro players, guides, or tutorials. Playing lots of public games in Garena. Non stop playing everyday, after schools, after tuition, wanting to improve really quick. At this moment, some of my friends decide to join tounament held in the cyber cafe. I wasn't really good and ready to join tournaments yet but I wanted to join and get some experience on how tournament works. I requested them to bring me to go tournament but was instantly rejected due to inexperience and unskilled. I was devastated and disappointed. This makes me furious and started to train up myself more and more. I started to watch tournament games, pay close attention to professional players such as YaphetS, Vigoss, BurNing, ChuaN, Mushi, and a lot more.
After two years of hardwork in training, I finally can call myself a pro in DOTA. It was mid July 2013 and a tournament is coming up on August together with the third term exam. This time, I was selected by my friends to join this upcoming tournament "SMM 2013 Dota Tournament". I was extremely happy and delighted as if my dreams come true. As we worked on, we trained even harder and trying to be the champions so that we can represent our state, Perak. Finally we registered ourselves and got a place in the tournament.
My friends and I, trying to see who are we facing.
Team Morifa, on the right.
Team Members: Rave "Rave" Lee (wearing cap), Terrence "Laksa" Lee, Gerald "DaveLui" Lui, Ah "K-God" Kim, James "Jameszz" Chong
After playing almost for a day, we got eliminated on the semi finals. We were devastated, furious and disappointed with our performance that we couldn't enter the finals but we insisted, that one day we will we be champions.
But my journey doesn't stop there. As Dota 2 has officially released the Free to Play version, I downloaded it, and pursue my dream in Dota 2. As it's online and have stable connections, I started to join online tournaments with my friends, and trying to win something. We did won a few tournaments but sadly it is not enough to represent our country or states.
It's like 4 years I've been playing Dota, I have decided to move to a new game. It was after SPM, and Steam did a year end sale. This game, popped up on my screen, showing me 50% discount. It was Counter Strike: Global Offensive, the latest counter strike. I was having thoughts whether to buy it or not, as it's 50% discount. Without hesitation, I bought it along with my friends. We started to play for fun and killing people. After few months, again, I decided to go professional in this game, as it's CS, my very first game. Not only that, some professional players that did guides and streamings, did helped me a lot, such as pashaBiceps, friberg, KennyS and others. I found this clan, Malaysian Battlefield Team (MBT). I asked some of my friends to join too. Malaysian Battlefield Team or MBT in short, was established in 15th September 2006 by four gaming enthusiast with the sole intention of creating a dedicated, well managed and reputable organization of gamers. MBT focuses on First Person Shooter genre game the Battlefield series from Electronic Arts and other titles which emphasize teamwork play. Since then, with limited means of advert MBT was grown steadily over the months and the number of members has increased from a mere 8 to currently a total of 51.
After joining MBT, my skills being sharpen, desire to play increases tremendously and wanting to join more tournaments in the future. Until now, I'm still playing CS:GO that I can't leave my hands for a day. I'm watching pro tournament games, watching streams, watching guides, and training aim to improve myself day by day.
